Cornafean Ladies Medal Presentation

Well done to the Cornafean Ladies GFC who hosted their medal presentation in Cornafean Sports Hall on Saturday night last.  This was a very unique occasion for the Cornafean Ladies as every player registered from U11 up the Senior Ladies received a medal.  Chairman of the Cornafean Ladies Philip Wilson welcomed all players and supporters to the occasion and special guests were Carol Kiernan, Chairwoman of the Cavan Ladies Co. Board and members of the newly crowned Leinster Club Champions, Mullinalaghta brothers Donal and Aidn McElligott and Jason Matthews.  The lads deservedly received a standing ovation from the large crowd present as they were introduced on stage.  Carol presented the successful U11 and U12 ladies with their medals and Deirdre and Mary were acknowledged and thanked for the excellent work they have done and will continue to do with the girls.  Liam Young then introduced the successful U14  and U15 girls to the stage where they received their medals from the Mullinalaghta lads and again Liam and Ann Marie were sincerely thanked for all their work with the ladies in 2018.  The successful Senior ladies, Intermediate B Champions were then introduced to the stage by Declan Beard, Manager and they received their medals from the Mullinalaghta lads.  Declan received a presentation himself and was sincerely thanked for the massive contribution he has made to Cornafean Ladies Football over the past 3 years.  He now moves on to manage the Cavan Minor Ladies and we wish him and his team the very best of luck in the future.  Presentations were then made to Aoife Young and Maeve Masterson, members of the Cavan U14 All Ireland Champions panel, Aine Brady and Amy Wharton County Minor and Senior team members respectively and Gillian and Fiachra Brady for their continued work for Cornafean Ladies football.  The night would not have  been complete without Jason Matthews giving a rendition of his now famous Mullinaghta victory song to the great enjoyment of the large crowd .  Philip thanked everyone once again for the great attendance on the night and everyones   continued support of Ladies football in Cornafean.  The night finished with a raffle and tea  and refreshments for everyone.
