Ladies U17 Division 3 Final

Cornafean 3-10  Kingscourt 5-14

After a great year the Cornafean U17 ladies reached the Division 3 county final against Kingscourt played in Bunnoe on Sunday last.  Unfortunately for the ladies in Red and after a brave effort, the spoils went to east Cavan with a  very mobile and more physical Kingscourt team winning out on a final margin of 10 pts.  The Cornafean girls led by 3 pts at the break but the Kingscourt girls showed their power and class to dominate the second period and their quick fire goals ended the game as a contest.  But the Cornafean girls were brave in defeat working to the bitter end and many of the team can play U17 grade for a number of more years.  Well done to the entire squad of girls on their great efforts over the past months and to their team management of Declan Beard and AnnMarie Cullivan.

Reds scorers Amy McIntyre 1-6, Deirbhile McCaffrey 2-2, Lucy Hogan 0-1, Brianna McCaffrey 0-1.

Hazel Sheridan, Meabh Masterson, Edel Brady, Aoife Young, Lucy Cullivan, Aine Brady, Lucy Hogan, Aimee McIntyre, Emma Finnegan, Deirbhile McCaffrey, Fiona Morrow, Carrie Tully, Brianna McCaffrey, Anna Tully, Laura Smith, Aine G Brady.
