Leinster Minor Club final

(Oldest Posts First)

Can Eire Og finish the year in Style and defeat Round Towers the Kildare champions on Sunday? This will give us an idea of the standard of minor football in the county. I reckon the lads will give a good account of themselves.

Who did they beat en-route to the final?

Unlucky today lads. Eire Og 1-4 Round Towers 0-8. Left it behind ye. Too wasteful in front of goal.

What is this all about! A made up tournament, taking part when season over. Was talking to a guy involved with the kildare team and they had a massive job getting lads out to make up a team. Eire were the only ones training for this... And still couldn't win at home. More football ego bull

Ye need not worry Old Burrin and Carlowtothecore. Your clubs wont ever be in it. You have to win your county championship to qualify.

if round towers werent interested in the tournament then why would they celebrate and jump around just as they did after winning the kildare championship. The reason that this tournament was established was to develope players, like in eire og's case when they win every game by 15 points. If they cant get good games inside carlow the best option is to play the best teams around.

Firstly hard luck to eire og yesterday in their match. I do have to say that as a club they are v supportive in general to the various development squads right upto senior. Other clubs including my own could take a leaf out of their book in how they operate and how the support the county. It goes to show that playing for your doesnt effect the chances of your club.

Oldburrin - we were playing good teams and bettering ourselves - And you're going to assume we should win the tournament simply because it's in our pitch? Very naive of you... Maybe you should worry about your own club instead of eire og's minors for a change

i couldnt care less about eire og minors or seniors what im saying is that eire og must be the only team in ireland never to win their own tournament only good in bad standard carlow competitions

Well they were only beaten by a point by the kildare champions... And eire og aren't in it a lot of years it's whoever wins in carlow MFC... your point is absolutely ridiculous

YI. Dont be minding them two bitter begrudgers. Jelousy is a terrible thing. Insular and small minded. They dont see the bigger picture and feel threatened by any thing new. Eire Og are a progressive club that are always trying to take things to the next level. Those two cant comprehend that and keep coming back with their infantile comments.

Regarding oldburin and infantile comments, you'll be glad to know that he does not confine them to the Carlow forum. My question for him is, which Carlow team at any grade does he support ??
