Carlow manager Turlough O'Brien believes that if his side deliver a performance, they can see off the challenge of Longford in the All-Ireland SFC qualifiers.

The sides meet at Pearse Park on Saturday and O'Brien will be back on the sideline having completed his suspension.

Following the heavy defeat to Laois, the Barrowsiders have had to regroup, but O'Brien is confident that they have done that and he is looking forward to the game.

"We have trained well since," O'Brien told the Carlow Nationalist. "We played better on the road in the league. No question of that. It doesn't matter where the match is played. We have to go out and perform.

"We are confident that if we get the best out of ourselves, we will be in contention to win. We have to perform a lot better than we did against Laois."
