Carlow goalkeeper Craig Kearney has been forced to accept his 12-week suspension.

Kearney was given the ban after he was alleged to have abused an umpire during Carlow's narrow defeat to Offaly in the NFL Division Four clash.

The Palatine goalkeeper appealed the decision, but with no video evidence to support his claim, the suspension stands.

This means that Kearney will be unavailable for the Leinster round first round clash next month.
