Carlow captain Daniel St Ledger admits that they are very much a work in progress.

St Ledger told the Carlow Nationalist that it is going to take some time for them to get where they want to be, but he added that they are already heading in the right direction.

The Barrowsiders ended their league campaign with a defeat to already promoted Longford, but there were certainly many positives to take from the campaign.

"We are working on baby steps," said St Ledger. "Promotion would have been great this year but you don't see many teams getting promoted after one good year. You have to build this up over a few years. That is what we are working on. A baby step process."
