McCormack goes back to the drawing board

November 05, 2014

St Mullins' manager Anthony McCormack is hoping that his players can learn from their Leinster club experience.

The Carlow champions fell at the first hurdle against Westmeath side Raharney and McCormack admits that it was an experience that they have to learn from.

"When we put them under pressure, they were able to get scores and we found them harder to get," McCormack told the Carlow Nationalist.

"We tried everything. They had a very strong set of backs, a big physical team who were well able to hurl. It is an experience which our lads will have to learn from. It's back to the drawing board again.

"You can't compete in Leinster if you don't win in Carlow. Look, we just weren't good enough on the day. It is as simple as that. We asked to fight to the end. They did that."
