O'Dwyer pleased to get through

August 13, 2014
Old Leighlin manager Karl O'Dwyer admits that their clash against Kildavin-Clonegal may not have been easy on the eye, but stressed that they achieved their objective.

The defending champions defeated Kildavin-Clonegal on a scoreline of 2-08 to 2-02 in the group stages last weekend to secure their place in the semi-final.

And O'Dwyer was relieved to see his side through to the last four without putting in anywhere near their best performance.

Speaking to the Carlow Nationalist he said: "For the purists, it was a disappointing game, but it is good to win."
