Preview: All-Ireland SFC qualifier: Carlow v Clare

July 12, 2014

Netwatch Cullen Park.
Carlow restored some pride to the jersey when edging out Waterford on a scoreline of 0-17 to 1-13 in the qualifiers.

Anthony Rainbow and his players were on the receiving end of some harsh criticism following their 28-point defeat by Meath but they answered that in the best possible fashion and visitors Clare won't hold any fear for them.

The Barrowsiders will be boosted by the return of talented corner-forward Paul Broderick to their starting line-up.

Broderick missed the win over the Deise due to a back injury he picked up against the Royal County but the manager expects him to be fit to face the Banner.

Clare supremo Colm Collins isn't taking Carlow for granted: "This is no easy task. Carlow are a good side and they have home advantage. We won't be taking them lightly.

"Remember, they are after knocking Waterford out, who drew with us. We have to be ready for this one if we are to progress."
