Former Eire Og supremo Turlough O'Brien has been appointed Carlow senior football selector.

O'Brien was on the line last Sunday as Carlow brought the curtain down on their league campaign and Carlow manager Anthony Rainbow was delighted to have the experienced coach come on board.

"We only had myself and Damian (McMahon) and we really needed someone else to come in and give us a bit of a hand," Rainbow told the Carlow Nationalist.

"We called Turlough and he was delighted to come in. He has sons involved and he's very passionate about Carlow football, so it's great to have him on board." Tweet
