The Camogie Association have set an attendance target of 25,000 for the 2019 Liberty Insurance All-Ireland Camogie Championships Finals at Croke Park. President Kathleen Woods is urging supporters to turn out in force and ‘Go Together’ as the Championships enter their knockout stages next weekend as it’s now down to the Quarter-Finals in the Senior Championship.

Speaking at today’s launch Kathleen Woods said: “There has been a huge groundswell of support for women’s sport in the last twelve months and we want Camogie supporters, and indeed supporters of all Gaelic Games, to get involved and be part of this wider movement.

“But it is not just support for the sake of it. This is the most exciting time of the year as our All-Ireland Championships really heat up with all of the remaining teams targeting a place in Croke Park on Sunday September 8th in the hope of climbing the steps of the Hogan Stand.

“These teams are the elite of our sport and we are aiming to see huge crowds come out to support these fantastic players in all of the remaining matches and in particular in Croke Park on what is always a great occasion.

“We’re aiming to have over 25,000 supporters there on the day and I’m delighted to launch a number of initiatives to help supporters all over the country make the journey to Croke Park and to ‘Go Together’ with their friends, family and club mates in what will be a wonderful celebration of our game!

“It’s an ambitious target but we’re determined to do all we can to get there.”
