Killeigh and Killurin share the spoils

The fine evening attracted a large crowd to Killeigh to see both teams play their final group game. The sides finished level, and qualify for the knock out stages. Killurin scored the first 2 points, before Padraig Horan replied for Killeigh. Each side dominated for spells, but Killurin led at half time thanks to an opprtunistic goal. Half Time Killeigh 0-5 Killurin 1-4.
The best hurling came in the second half, and when Killurin opened up a five point lead, it looked bad for 14 man Killeigh. However, they really upped their game scoring 1-2 in about five minutes to level, Killian O'Brien scoring the goal. Killurin then scored their second goal to lead again, but in an exciting closing period, Killeigh pulled back the lead to a point.
Craig Kelly then scored a wonder point from the sideline, to ensure Killeigh gained a draw, and ensured Killeigh qulified from the group. Final Score: Killeigh 1-10 Killurin 2-7. Both teams deserve credit for playing the game in a competitive and sporting manner. Referee was Catch Buckley. Killeigh scorers: Padraic Horan 0-7 frees. Killian O'Brien 1-0. MarkEgan, Andrew Brophy, and Craig Kelly added points.
