It has emerged that Laois star Donie Kingston has rejected AFL scout Ricky Nixon's invitation to take part in this month's recruitment camps in Mayo. The young O'Moore ace was one of a number of GAA stars who had been invited by Nixon to take part in the AFL recruitment camps at Castlebar, but has decided to concentrate on his Leaving Cert studies instead. The news will come as a big blow to Nixon as two AFL clubs have already made offers to the 17-year-old to join them Down Under. Entering his fifth year at second level, the question now is whether or not he will be committed to Laois for 2009 with his Leaving Certificate to be priority for the upcoming year. Tweet
