There was no Jackpot winner and 2 Match 3 winners [The Girls C/O Dalys Shop ; Y O'Connor C/O Owenie O'Connor ] [?100 each]. The results of this weeks Lotto draw will be announced next week. Next weeks draw will place in Direen's, Cloneygowan Monday 11th August. JUNIOR B FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP The Raheen Junior Footballers secured their place in the quarter final of the Junior B Football Championship with an emphatic win over Clara in Clara in their final group game last Thursday evening on a scoreline of 3-15 to 0-04. Raheen opened the scoring with 4 points inside the first 10 minutes from Sean Gorman (2), Liam Gorman & Dermot Guinan replied to by a single point for Clara. The sides then exchanged a point apiece within a minute around the mid-point of the half with the Raheen score from Eoghan Bolton. In the 19th minute Raheen made their dominance pay when they scored their opening goal from John Hackett who dribbled around 2 to 3 defenders and the keeper to dribble the ball to the net. Raheen then added 2 further points over the following 5 minutes from Eoghan Bolton and Dermot Guinan replied to by a pointed free for Clara in the 27th minute to complete the first half scoring. This saw Raheen leading at the break by 1-07 to 0-03. In the second half Raheen were completely dominant and got the ideal start when in the 2nd minute John Hackett scored his and the team's second goal when he caught a pass from Dermot Guinan to shoot to the net. Raheen then added 4 points in a row over the following 10 minutes from Dermot Guinan (2) , Martin Nugent and John Hackett. In the 13th minute Raheen secured the win which was never in doubt when they scored their 3rd goal from Sean Gorman when Martin Nugent's shot was palmed down by the keeper in front of Sean Gorman who picked up the ball and shot to the net followed by 4 points in a row over the following 10 minutes from Dermot Guinan (2), Keith Kirwan and Eoghan Bolton. Raheen almost held Clara scoreless for the second half but in the last minute Clara hit over their only point of the second half. SUBS: Shane Corcoran (for Matthew O'Byrne), Paddy Arnold (for Karl O'Byrne), Paul Byrne (for Martin Nugent), Keith Kirwan (for John McEvoy) (0-01), INTERMEDIATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP The Raheen Intermediate Footballers suffered their second championship defeat of the year when they were beaten by Clara last Friday evening in Killeigh on a scoreline of 2-09 to 0-10 . Raheen started the game in flying fashion and opened the scoring with 2 points inside the first minute from Cathal Maher and Darren Monagher. Over the following 15 minutes Raheen added another 3 points from John Crombie, Conor Carroll and Danny McEvoy replied by a single pointed free for Clara but Raheen will regret the 3 goal opportunities they missed during this time. In the 19th minute Clara got right back into the game firstly with another pointed free followed immediately by their opening goal which saw the sides draw level. Raheen then hit back with 3 points in a row over the following 10 minutes from Paddy Rigney(2) and John Crombie followed by another pointed free for Clara. In stoppage time at the end of the half both sides added another point with the Raheen score from Paddy Rigney. This saw Raheen leading at the break by 0-09 to 1-04. During the half time break the heavy rainshower arrived and the greasy conditions the followed may have been a contributory factor to Raheen's performance which nosedived completely in the second half. Clara drew level with 2 points inside the first 5 minutes before Raheen replied with a pointed free from Darren Monagher in the 8th minute which proved to be their only score of the half. Thereafter it was one way traffic for Clara firstly adding 2 points over then following 10 minutes and then in the 20th minute the decisive score when they scored their second goal. In the 25th minute Clara hit over their final point to secure the win.
