Greene is browned off by fixture

Carlow senior hurling boss Jim Greene has joined with his Westmeath counterparts in castigating the GAA for fixing the Christy Ring Cup final for this Friday evening (7.30pm) at Croke Park. The former Waterford star described the decision by Croke Park chiefs as "madness of the highest order." "Our whole year is based on going to Croke Park," said Greene. "We've been talking about it as a team unit since last October and I was hoping that it would be the first ofmany an appearance there for some of our players. "But Friday night, at 7.30? It'd be like playing in a tin can! What I can't understand is why this game is not a curtain raiser for the All-Ireland semi-final between Cork and Kilkenny. "That's where these games were meant to be played. Why isn't our final part of a treble header in Croke Park on Sunday week with a minor game?"
