The Juniors played Ballinkillen last Thursday night in the championship. They put in a good first half display and were unlucky to concede a goal in the fourth minute after a fumble by Richie Kielthy. Charlie Byrne pointed a free and Breandan Kavanagh scored a point before a goal mouth scrap finished with a Jim Murphy goal just before half time. This left the score 1-4 to 1-2 at half time. Ballinkillen were much the better team in the second half. They scored 4-8 to St Mullins' 1-4 to run out eventual winners 5-12 to 2-6. St Mullins still have to play Carlow Town and need to win this game to have any chance of progressing to the semi final.
