Carroll targets Meath scalp
July 18, 2008
Limerick corner back Diarmuid Carroll has set his sights on a famous victory over Meath this Saturday evening.
Looking forward to the first-round qualifier meeting with the Royals at the Gaelic Grounds, the player says:
"When you have a target like Meath, it is not hard to get going again. We just need to get our heads right like we did against Cork - we need to be in the right frame of mind.
"Belief is everything for a smaller county when trying to make a breakthrough. We want to make a statement against Meath.
"Everyone is sick of sob stories. We are due a qualifier win. Last year we lost to Louth by one point and the year before they lost to Westmeath by one point."
