Geary hails support
July 11, 2008
New Waterford selector Maurice Geary has paid tribute to the large Deise support which turned out to watch their side hammer Antrim by 21 points last Saturday at Walsh Park.
While many of the supporters may have turned up in the hope of watching their side play the attractive hurling they can, Geary also believes that many were there to look at the new team management and the new tactics they had brought to the Waterford setup.
"We were delighted with the support here today. I suppose the fans were anxious to see the team again after five weeks and see what they were like after the defeat against Clare and I suppose in particular they were anxious to see the new management team," said Geary.
"Davy put a lot of thought into today's team, the pattern of play and so on and as a result we're quite happy with the outcome and the way things went," confirmed the selector.
