MINOR CHAMPIONSHIP We played our first round game in the 2008 Minor Championship on Wednesday last when we travelled up to play Oughteragh Gaels in Ballinamore. We came away a victory on the scoreline 1-12 to 0-10. Both teams served up a very good game of football with the result in doubt almost up to the final whistle. This was a very good result for us as we were badly hampered with injuries to key players going into the game. Because of this five of our Under 15 players got their introduction to Minor Championship Football and all were very impressive. We had outstanding individual performances but on the day it was the team performance that stood out most. Thanks to our supporters who travelled up and to those parents that helped out with the team. Our next game, a home match was due to be in the Park Wednesday at 7.00pm against Dromahair however owing to the death of Katherine O'Rourke, Dromahair has now been cancelled as a mark of respect, may she rest in peace. SENIOR & INTERMEDIATE LEAGUE Our senior teams impressive run in the Senior League came to an end on Sunday at the hands of neighbours Melvin Gaels who secured a one point victory over us on a score line of 1-7 to 0-11. Despite being reduced to 14 men early on in the second half Melvin Gaels seemed to be motivated by the sending of and we were unable to take advantage of the spare man. It was closely contested down to the final few minutes but Melvin Gaels managed the winning score.
