Fogarty: Shefflin will start
July 04, 2008
Kilkenny selector Martin Fogarty has dismissed rumours that Henry Shefflin will miss Sunday's Leinster SHC final due to injury.
Rumours have been circulating in recent days that the former Hurler of the Year won't start against Wexford after picking up a knock, which is unrelated to the cruciate knee ligament injury he sustained in last year's All-Ireland final, and had sidelined him until recently.
But Fogarty has poured cold water on the rumours by saying: "To the best of my knowledge, Henry is flying. He is fully fit so should be there. He hit 0-11, nine frees and a 65 last time out (against Offaly). He's going well alright."
Both Kilkenny and Wexford will name their line-ups tonight with Noel Hickey, James Ryall (both hamstring) and Michael Fennelly (broken wrist) all ruled out for the Cats.
