They now play in the All-Ireland Finals in mid-August. Well done to all the lads and their coaches and thanks to all the parents who came and supported the team. The Over 35's had a good weekend. They also enjoyed some good success on the football field winning the Ballinderry Tournament with victories over Moortown and the home side to lift the trophy on Sunday night. At this stage it is thought that the final will be held on the 26th/27th July but this has yet to be confirmed. Under 16 League An Mhaigh v Clochar Moy Under 16s opened their league campaign on Thursday 26th June with a facile win at home to Clogher. It was the perfect start to their season for the Sky Blue juveniles, who went on a goal-scoring spree in the first half to completely overwhelm what was a game young Clogher side. The Moy squad and team management have prepared well for this year's Grade Three League and Championship, and this was very much evident in their overall performance last week. They produced a wonderful attacking display but will know only too well that much tougher tests await them in the weeks ahead. Anyone who can lend a hand in making sandwiches or providing assistance at the field during the second seek of July should contact Karol McQuade. Centenary Book Significant progress continues to be made in researching and writing a book to commemorate our Centenary Year in 2008. With the deadline for publication looming ever closer, the club would appeal to anyone with photographs, newspaper clippings, programmes, old medals or material that might be of interest to get in contact with any member of the club committee. In particular, we are currently on the look-out for photographs dating back to the early part of this century relating to the people and village of Moy. We would like to hear from anyone who may be in possession of family photographs and/or pictures of events and property in Moy from 1900 to 1950. All material will be returned promptly to their rightful owners in the same condition in which it was supplied. The club intend to launch the book at a special Centenary Gala Night in Armagh City Hotel on Saturday 22nd November 2008. Among those who will be in attendance at this major event will be the current President of the GAA, Nicky Brennan, and other well known personalities. We would appreciate the co-operation of all our members and friends in compiling this very special publication which will be an integral part of our club's history. Centenary Banner An impressive new Club Centenary banner has been erected at Pairc Thír na nÓg. The large and colourful Centenary sign adorns the front of our clubrooms and is a reminder to all club members and friends, as well as visitors to our ground, that An Mhaigh G.A.C. is officially 100 years old in 2008! Birthday Girl Speaking of birthdays, popular Moy committee member Geraldine Fox was in celebratory mood last Friday (27th June) as she added another year to her tally. For the past couple of seasons, Geraldine has been present at many minor and adult matches where she has proved a great asset in looking after the needs of the various Moy teams. Her half-time refreshments and first aid expertise have made Geraldine very popular with the players. We extend to her belated birthday greetings. Moy Host Finals Pairc Thír na nÓg was the venue this past two Saturdays for some enthralling Grade Four Under 14 Final action between Aghaloo and Brackaville. After crossing swords on Saturday 21st June in the championship decider, these teams met again in Moy last weekend for the right to be crowned league champions. Our own club Secretary Mary Daly, who was recently featured in a recent Ulster Championship match programme as one of the GAA's finest "Unsung Heroes", had the honour of presenting the Aghaloo captain with the winning trophy after the game on Saturday past. Ulster Final Tickets Any club member who would like to be considered for a ticket for this year's Ulster Senior and Minor Football Finals in Clones should contact either An Runai Mary Daly or An Cisteoir Raymond McKeown before Sunday 13th July. Because our club will only be allocated a limited number of tickets for this year's provincial showpiece, names will be entered into a draw. It should be noted that late applications will not be considered, and only fully paid-up members of the club need apply. LADIES NOTES Senior League Div One The Aodh Ruadh v Moy Division One Ladies Senior league match, scheduled to take place on Thursday 26th June in Dungannon, was postponed and will now be played at a later date.
