Dolly lolly boosts Board coffers

June 27, 2008
Proceeds from last weekend's Dolly Parton gig at Nowlan Park will net Kilkenny County Board a tidy five-figure sum. A huge crowd of 20,000 braved the conditions on Sunday to get a glimpse (and perhaps a listen as well) of the buxom queen of country - good news for Kilkenny GAA chiefs as their deal with the promoter is attendance-related. The proceeds, which could be up to 70,000 euro, will be invested into the Nowlan Park redevelopment fund. Dolly Parton may have her knockers, but you can bet your bottom dollar that members of Kilkenny County Board haven't a bad word to say about her.
