McConville on the mend
June 20, 2008
Armagh manager Peter McDonnell has admitted that talismanic forward Oisin McConville will be ready for the Ulster semi final clash against Down on Sunday week.
McConville hadn't trained for three weeks prior to the win over Cavan, but McDonnell revealed that the Crossmaglen star would have come on if called upon.
However, the decision was made to keep the 31=year-old in reserve and ensure that he will be fit enough for the semi final, leaving the Orchard County with a full strength squad to choose from.
"We'll be keeping our fingers crossed," said McDonnell. "Oisin McConville is Oisin McConville. He hadn't been able to train with us for three weeks.
"There was a slight hope that he may have been able to do something for us against Cavan, but it's sometimes better to sit back and take that bit of extra time to get back on two feet and I hope he does."
