Thurles or Limerick will host final

June 20, 2008
The newly refurbished Semple Stadium in Thurles and the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick are the two grounds in contention to host the Munster hurling final on July 13. Semple Stadium, which has been redeveloped at a cost of EUR18 million, will only get to stage the final in the event of Limerick beating Clare in Sunday's Munster semi-final. If the Banner County emerge victorious, they will face Tipperary in the decider at the Gaelic Grounds, a Munster Council meeting confirmed on Thursday night. Other fixtures finalised include next Wednesday's Munster junior football final between Cork and Kerry at Pairc Ui Chaoimh, and on the same evening, the provincial minor hurling semi-finals, with Waterford meeting Cork at Walsh Park and Tipperary facing Clare in Thurles. Both games will have 7.30 throw-in times.
