Injured stars to return for Cats

Kilkenny are expected to have a fully fit squad to pick from for next month's Leinster SHC final against either Dublin or Wexford. After missing last Sunday's facile semi-final win over Offaly at Portlaoise through injury, Noel Hickey, Derek Lyng and James Ryall are all expected to return to action with their clubs this weekend. Kilkenny selector Martin Fogarty said: "The physio will check them out next weekend and the indications are that they'll be hopeful of playing with the club. "Basically, they'll be doing a fitness test towards the weekend, hoping to pass it and play for the club." While Richie Power's hamstring injury could rule him out of Carrickshock's game at the weekend, Fogarty is hopeful that he will be fit for the provincial decider on July 6. "He probably won't play for the club next weekend. We would be hoping that the following week he would be able to get back into training," he added. Brian Hogan was substituted in the closing stages of Sunday's game after receiving a blow to the head, but his injury is not thought to be serious.
