O'Grady a big doubt for Banner
June 17, 2008
Gerry O'Grady remains a major doubt for Clare's Munster SHC semi-final against Limerick at Semple Stadium on Sunday.
The Crusheen defender was forced to retire at half-time in the Banner County's impressive first round win over Waterford after suffered the break 10 minutes before the interval. O'Grady's hand is currently in plaster, but Clare manager Mike McNamara remains hopeful that he will be able to play some part against last year's beaten All-Ireland finalists.
Meanwhile, new attacking sensation Mark Flaherty is expected to start, despite suffering severe bruising to his hand while in the process of scoring 1-7 on his Munster SHC debut against Waterford. The injury only came to light after Flaherty complained of suffering severe pain in his hand when playing for his club Killanena in the local intermediate hurling championship on the weekend before last, and struggled to hold his hurl properly during the game.
