Antrim call on former boss Nelson

June 10, 2008
Jim Nelson, who managed Antrim when they contested the 1989 All-Ireland final, has joined the Saffron hurlers' backroom team. The former manager will sit in the stands on match day and liaise with joint managers Terence McNaughton and Dominic McKinley as well as providing a statistical backup. "Everybody seems to be doing it," said McNaughton to BBC Northern Ireland when explaining the reasoning behind bringing in an advisor. "If they are doing it, they must be getting something out of it. It's another opinion from somebody you respect. "He will also be a liaison officer between us and the county board. Jim Nelson has great experience and will also be doing statistics for us and advising us if we're doing something wrong."
