Shefflin returns to action

May 12, 2008
The prospect of Henry Shefflin featuring in Kilkenny's opening Leinster hurling championship defence against Offaly or Laois next month has increased after he made his return to competitive hurling on Sunday. The former Hurler of the Year played the first half for county champions Ballyhale Shamrocks in their 2-19 to 0-10 win over Dicksboro. Shefflin lined out at left half forward and scored a point from play. It was his first game since he ruptured the cruciate ligament in his right knee in the closing stages of last year's All-Ireland final against Limerick.
