O'Leary hails Kingdom work-rate
May 04, 2008
All-Ireland under 21 football final man of the match Kieran O'Leary praised Kerry's work ethic after they claimed their first title in a decade with an impressive victory over Kildare at Thurles.
Mike O'Donoghue's two goals were the difference between the sides and were both created by the outstanding O'Leary, who also paid tribute to Kingdom boss Sean Geaney.
"The effort that was put in was absolutely admirable," the delighted wing forward said.
"Sean is an inspirational manager and he had us well prepared for this game. We knew we were up against it, Kildare are a fine side, but thankfully we got the job done."
Senior star and team captain Killian Young remarked: "This is a fantastic competition to be involved in. It got a reprieve two years ago and we're delighted that it did."
