Wicklow only fielded 13 players and were annihilated by Westmeath in Saturday's bizarre minor hurling championship match at Mullingar (9-22 to 0-0). The powers-that-be will ask some serious questions of the Garden County's approach to this game. They didn't come out for the second half, which will not go down well in the corridors of Croke Park. Not a team to look a gift horse in the mouth, the Lake County mercilessly tore into the bedraggled opposition to lead by a whopping 49 points at the break.
