Jason Doherty's 39th minute goal proved all-important as Mayo eased their way to a 1-16 to 1-5 win over Leitrim in their Cadbury's Connacht U21 FC semi-final clash at McHale Park, Castlebar. Backed by a strong wind, Leitrim led by 1-4 to 0-5 at the interval with Emlyn Mulligan's goal in the 16th minute key to their advantage. However it was a precarious lead and Mayo went onto notch eight unanswered points after Doherty's goal with Adrian Campbell recording a fine brace. Tweet
