Brown leaves Fermanagh feeling blue
March 23, 2008
A five-star show by corner forward Eoghan Brown helped propel Derry to an emphatic 1-20 to 2-9 Cadbury's Ulster U21 FC win over Fermanagh at Celtic Park.
Derry made hard work of their win and despite having played with the wind at their backs in the first half could only manage a 0-13 to 2-4 interval lead with goals by the visitors' Leonard and McQuaid keeping the Ernesiders very much in the match.
Derry were a much improved side on the restart though and four points on the spin soon extended the Oak Leafers' lead to seven points.
Derry continued to dominate the proceedings in the second half and when Paul McWilliams executed a sublime chipped goal in the 50th minute, the issue was done and dusted.
