Steven McDonnell was a man possessed as Armagh annihilated Roscommon by 4-20 to 0-8 in Division Two at Crossmaglen. The All Star attacker helped himself to 3-6 and also played a key role in the winners' third goal as his initial goalbound shot was blocked before Brian Mallon sent the rebound to the net. There was little sign of the annihilation that was to come as the Orchard County led by 1-3 to 0-4 after 21 minutes. Ger Heneghan had two frees for the visitors at that stage while McDonnell already had 1-1. It was all Armagh in the last 15 minutes of the first half and they added another six points to their tally, to lead by 1-9 to 0-5 at the short whistle. Ronan Clarke and Stephen and Aaron Kernan had got their names on the scoresheet and the Armagh No.14 got 1-5 in the first period.
