GAA will see red over clash of colours

February 05, 2008
The GAA has put all county teams on notice that they must be prepared to wear alternative strips if there is a clash of colours. The ruling comes from Croke Park's Central Competitions Control Committee (CCCC) in an effort to allay confusion among players, officials and fans. "Counties will be asked to come to an agreement on their colours and if they can't they will play in their provincial colours," explained CCCC chairman Jimmy Dunne. "It isn't a case of home and way. We wanted to avoid clashes in national games so we decided to send out the message early." At the weekend Kerry and Donegal wore their provincial colours while Kildare and Tyrone also changed from their traditional colours.
