'Better team won' - Cork coach

September 03, 2007
A dejected Cork minor hurling coach Don Cronin has admitted that victors Tipperary (3-14 to 2-11) were the better team in the ESB All-Ireland MHC final at Croke Park. "It was always going to be a difficult task", Cronin explained. "They had beaten us in the Munster final and had improved considerably on that form. We got the start we wanted, but unfortunately we weren't able to maintain the momentum. "We knew coming into the match that we were up against a very accomplished Tipp side, with the likes of (Brendan) Maher, (Michael (Cahill) and (Noel) McGrath. "Our forwards did well on limited possession, but it was tough for our backs against the Tipp forwards."
