June 30, 2007
Billy White scored 1-7 as Kildare recorded a comfortable Christy Ring Cup victory over a disappointing Derry side at Celtic Park. Kildare…..2-21 Derry……0-13 The ace attacker registered all but two points of his tally in the first half, his five points coming from frees and the goal arriving in the ninth minute after his penalty was saved. Kildare held a commanding 1-10 to 0-4 lead at half-time and although Derry made the better start to the second half, the Lilywhites quickly regained control with points from Tony Spain and Oisin Lynch increasing their advantage. It was all over when Tony Murphy grabbed their second goal in the 56th minute, and Derry's misery was complete when Kevin Hinphey was sent off on a second yellow card.
