A jubilant Cork camp admitted that fortune was on their side as they triumphed by 2-10 to 0-15 over Laois in the All-Ireland Under 21 FC final at Thurles. "Laois were on the home stretch with five minutes to go," said Cork boss Tony Leahy after the game. "We were struggling badly when Michael (Shields) put a high ball into the square and we got a lucky bounce, but our lads simply never gave up." Meanwhile Laois attacker Colm O'Neill thought his side's chance had gone. "I thought it was over and done with, they took their chances a lot better than us.
