Tipp minors too strong for Waterford

Tipperary progressed to the next round of the Munster MFC following a comfortable 1-12 to 0-8 victory over Waterford at Fermoy on Wednesday evening, April 25. The Premier boys led by 0-7 to 0-3 at the interval, with corner forward Conor Sweeney accounting for 0-4 of their tally. Waterford improved after the restart and five points from the unerring Christopher Casey helped them to close the gap. But Tipp never looked in danger and they made sure of victory seven minutes from the end when midfielder Peter Acheson grabbed the only goal. Scorers - Tipperary: C Sweeney 0-4, P Acheson 1-0, S Carey 0-3, D Lynagh, C Sheehan 0-2 each, A Lonergan 0-1. Waterford: C Casey 0-7, J O'Mahony 0-1.
