Minor championship round-up

April 23, 2007
Offaly, Laois and Meath all enjoyed comfortable victories in their Leinster minor hurling championship first round games at the weekend. James Mulrooney bagged 3-3 as Offaly recorded a facile 5-29 to 0-8 win over Wicklow. Laois were never troubled by Kildare, winning by a whopping 3-20 to 0-3. Meath walloped neighbours Westmeath by 2-19 to 0-12 in Mullingar. Meanwhile, Tipperary have set up a Munster MFC qualifier meeting with Waterford following a 2-11 to 0-13 replay win over Clare at Kilmallock. Cork await the winners of that tie in the semi-final, with Kerry and Limerick through on the other side.
