Armagh book final spot
April 05, 2007
Armagh progressed to the Ulster under 21 football final following a 0-11 to 0-8 victory over Derry at Casement Park on Wednesday night, April 4.
Full forward Stefan Forker top-scored for the winners with 0-5 (0-4 from frees) as the much-fancied Orchard County side set up a final meeting with Monaghan.
The sides were level on 0-4 apiece at half-time with full forward Mark Lynch helping to keep Derry in touch. It wasn't until the 42nd minute that the winners finally stamped any authority on the game.
Kevin Dyas and Paul Courtney both found the target before Lynch replied with a brilliant long-range effort for the Oak Leafers. But further points from Paul Courtney and Charlie Vernon stretched Armagh's lead to 0-11 to 0-7 before James Kielt completed the scoring with a late effort for Derry.
