Fired-up Fermanagh into semis

Underdogs Fermanagh caused a shock by sending Down packing (1-15 to 0-16) after extra-time in an intriguing Cadbury's Ulster Under FC quarter-final clash at Lisnaskea. Down looked to be heading out the exit door at the first time of asking but a Kevin McKernan point forced the game into added time as the sides finished deadlocked at 1-12 apiece. The crucial score of the game arrived early in extra-time when Fermanagh attacker James Connolly palmed the ball into the Down net. Fermanagh went into a two point lead in the second period when Barry Connolly pointed before Down replied through captain John Boyle. Fermanagh full-forward Daniel Kille proved the hero of the day for the homesters when he fired over a free in the final minute.
