Clare shock Kingdom

March 11, 2007
Clare created a major upset at Kilmihill when they secured a 1-6 to 0-6 victory over Kerry in the opening round of the Cadbury's Munster under 21 football championship. The Banner county fully deserved their win though as they dominated from the start of the match and really ought to have won by more. Playing with the aid of a strong wind in the first half, Clare looked in trouble as they went in at the break just leading by 0-4 to 0-3. However Clare relocated Gary Brennan into midfield and he helped turn things around. Brennan had a hand in David Ryan's 40th minute goal which proved to be the decisive score.
