Offaly advance to semi

Offaly 1-8 Longford 0-6 Offaly overcame the challenge of Longford to make it through to the Cadbury's Leinster under-21 semi final in a dour affair played at Tullamore on Saturday, March 3rd. In a low scoring contest, Offaly played into a strong breeze, but still kept in contention as they only trailed by 0-4 to 0-2 at the interval following a poor display by Longford. Despite the loss of senior star Ken Casey through suspension and just seven minutes into the second period, Sean Ryan scored a cracking goal to put Offaly in front by three points. The home side found their form and points from Willie Mulhall and Rory Connor cemented their lead and saw them comfortably through to the semi final where they will meet Meath.
