O'Donnell praises Roscommon character

Roscommon minor manager Fergal O'Donnell
Roscommon minor boss Fergal O'Donnell was full of admiration for his players following their thrilling drawn All-Ireland final against Kerry.
"The way the lads performed today, they really were a credit to Roscommon," the former Rossies midfielder said.
"It certainly didn't look good for us when Kerry went into a 0-8 to 0-3 lead late in the first half. But our lads showed tremendous heart and spirit by turning the game around, scoring eight points without reply.
"And then, when Kerry took a one-point lead towards the end, our passion and character stood to us once again when David O'Gara shot the equalizing point in injury-time."
O'Donnell's only criticism was that Roscommon were guilty of showing Kerry too much respect.
"For the first 20 minutes or so, we showed Kerry far too much respect and a lot of our lads stood far too much off their men.
"But based on the way we played for the rest of the game, we were well deserving of a draw."
