Mayo…….2-14 Leitrim……2-7 Mayo captain Pierce Hanley produced a man of the match performance as the Westerners accounted for Leitrim in the Connacht MFC semi-final at Carrick-on-Shannon. Hanley scored 0-6 in what was a comfortable victory for the visitors. Mayo never looked back after goals from Michael Sweeney and Liam Lydon gave them a 2-9 to 1-6 lead at the interval. The Leitrim goal was scored by Ray Mulvey. Mayo stretched their advantage after the restart with points from Gerry O'Boyle and Michael Sweeney. However, Leitrim were given a glimmer of hope when substitute Mark Creegan blasted to the net in the 44th minute.
