13 man Wicklow fall to Offaly comeback

Wicklow lost two men and a five point lead as Offaly, boosted by the accuracy of Ken Casey, progressed to the last four of the Leinster MFC. Offaly 2-11 Wicklow 1-9 The Garden County who has qualified for the tie after a series of games in the preliminary group seemed set to benefit from their match practise as they surged into a 1-4 to 0-3 lead after ten minutes of play. The lead was reduced but still they seemed set to trouble the Faithfuls as the second half started. However, a goal from the accurate Casey added to the dismissals of goalkeeper Damien Darcy and midfielder Michael English stopped the Wicklow challenge in its tracks.
