'We are the underdogs' - O'Keeffe
September 18, 2005
Kerry football selector Ger O'Keeffe has upped the ante in the psychological war game ahead of this year's All-Ireland SFC final by claiming that the Kingdom are the underdogs.
Although most pundits make Kerry favourites to put back-to-back titles together, the Kerry selector disagrees.
"Tyrone are a very formidable team and have to be the favourites after a very good summer.
"Any team who has beaten Armagh three times has to be difficult to beat.
"Often the bookies seem to get carried away and the odds on Kerry winning have been very short from the start.
"I thought that was made because there were so many teams with a chance of winning.
"But we have to raise our game and find something extra to win.
"There is very little between the sides."
