Dooley's late brace earns shares of spoils for Irish

October 17, 2004
Kerry's John Mike Dooley scored two late goals to earn Ireland a 3-10 to 4-7 draw with Scotland in the Shinty/Hurling International at Ratoath, Co. Meath on Saturday, October 16. The signs looked ominous for the home side when they trailed by 0-7 by 3-3 at the interval. But second half goals from James Young, Pat Reidy and Dooley (two) gave Ireland a share of the spoils. Earlier, the Irish under 21s overcame their Scottish counterparts on a 3-5 to 2-2 scoreline, having held a 2-5 to 1-0 lead at the interval. The Irish women, comprised of the second level Colleges All-Stars, proved much too strong for the Scottish girls, winning the Camogie/Shinty international by 6-13 to 0-0.
