Derrygonnelly Harps have maintained their grip on the Fermanagh SFC silverware following a narrow 0-11 to 1-7 final victory over neighbours Erne Gaels today.

In what proved to be a keenly contested affair, Paul Ward found the target with three first-half points as the defending champions, who beat Roslea 12 months ago, built up a 0-5 to 0-3 interval lead.

Frees from Thomas McCaffrey and Seamus Ryder got Erne Gaels back on level terms soon after the resumption and the match came to life in the closing stages.

Ryan Lyons netted the only goal of the contest to place Erne Gaels in the driving seat (1-7 to 0-8) entering the home straight.

The holders refused to throw in the towel, however, and two Leigh Jones efforts restored parity before Declan Cassidy sent over what proved to be the winning score.
