Cushendall 2-16

Ballycastle 1-15

The Volunteer Cup will remain in Cushendall for another year after John McKillop's men staged a remarkable second half recovery to see off Ballycastle in Dunloy.

The McQuillan's looked set to end their 29-year wait for county honours when they led by nine points, 1-11 to 0-5, at the break, but the champions stormed back in the second half to capture their 13th title.

Ballycastle had five points on the board before Neil McManus eventually opened Cushendall's account in the 12th minute. But Ronan Donnelly's charges remained in the driving seat thanks to a Saul McCaughan goal.

However, Cushendall were a different proposition after the break. Substitute Natty McNaughton sparked them into life by finding the net with his first touch. A second goal from Eoghan Campbell brought them level before a Christy McNaughton point gave them the lead for the first time.

And the Ruairi Og's completed the comeback win with late points from McManus and Conor Carson.
